In this course the student will learn to tell stories visually in the mediums of drawing and painting, and through this knowledge will produce a hardbound book with an autobiographical story that they will write and illustrate. There is a long tradition of artists reflecting on their experiences and their life through their artwork.  As student’s learn about traditional art techniques such as drawing and painting they will also be learning some life skills such as how to tell a story and how to convey information from their own perspective to a ‘reader’ who will view the story.  Visual storytelling is extremely important in both High School and upon entering the work force.  The Illustrated storytelling methods we will cover in Illustrated Autobiography will help prepare students for many challenges in both college and adult life.
